Program: Japanese Food and Umami Culture with lunch
The Tokyo Women's Club visited Ajinomoto. Ms. Takako Tsubuku gave a lecture to us on a secret of Japanese food, “Umami," and Ms. Atsumi Nagai did on Ajinomoto Victory Project for the Olympic athletes. After the lectures, we moved to the kitchen, where we listened to Ms. Yukiyo Katsuta's nutritional explanation and had a taste of "Kachi-Meshi (very nourishing rice ball and pork miso soup)." Ms. Yukari Sakamoto kindly supported us in English.
Mr. Kenzaburo Takahashi well organized for us. We had our pictures taken in the garden, and were given a tour of the Museum of the history of food and lifestyles. There were 54 attendees in all.
